Nike enlisted Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants for another tv-themed collection, including the Nike Kyrie 5 “Patrick Star”. This is Kyrie’s second tv-themed collaboration, the first being a tribute to the sitcom “Friends”. This collection consists of three Kyrie 5 models and two Kyrie Low 2s. All of SpongeBob’s main cast (SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, Mr. Krabs, and Sandy) is accounted for in the colorways and design inspiration for this collection.
This Kyrie 5 features a bright pink upper with a green and purple sole. The upper has detailing of speckles and texture to represent the surface of a starfish. Nickelodeon logos on the straps, title-font inspired Nike branding on the heel, and Patrick graphics on the insoles completes the design. These sneakers released in August of 2019 retailed for $130.
If you’re a sneaker person you’ll appreciate the build quality on these. Clean lines, solid construction, comfortable insole. Definitely picking up another pair soon.
Rare to find a shoe that’s both this comfortable and this stylish. These check both boxes easily. Will definitely be ordering again.
Came in fast and looks just like the photos. Really happy with it — quality feels solid overall. Laces could be a bit thicker but nothing major. Would buy again.
